I used to quite like this pub when we used to pub crawl through Shaw. This was usually the last pub we visited before getting the train/bus back home. It's a good looking stone built pub with 2 separate rooms. It looks to be going through some tough times at the moment and when I called in on a Friday night there were only about 7 or 8 regulars in. The lounge area is still a reasonable place to sit though. There's no real ale, so I had just a half of Guinness and went to play on the quiz machine which took my money and refused to work. After much chunnering I was eventually and reluctantly given my pound back by the barmaid. The regulars seem like a friendly bunch though. I doubt that I'll be visiting again in the near future I'm afraid.
