An attractive looking pub that draws you in, especially when it's lit up in the evening. The pub from the outside looks to have once been a residential property at some point, instead of a purpose built pub. The interior to me seems to be split into tWo main areas. The front of the pub has a comfortable lounge area and front bar, certain sections were wallpapered and paint colours were in keeping with the heritage of the building. The rear section of the pub was a little more rowdy on our Friday night, with a group of lads engrossed in some screened sports match.
Six pumps along the front bar with five on, all of which were from Wadworth, so we settled on a couple of halves of Golden Haze, as we're not big Wadworth fans.

A very attractive looking, stone built pub just off of the High Street, it is covered with ivy on the outside and has a pleasant looking terrace with fairly lights and so on at the front. It was therefore a little disappointing to get inside and find that instead of a cosy old inn, it was in fact rather bland and generic in style and even had something of a sports bar feel to it with numerous plasma and projector screens dotted around showing the horse racing.
It’s a single, open plan interior with the large room wrapped around a central island bar counter. A couple of raised seating areas break up the space somewhat, but there is little of any note other than a few stained glass panels in the window. Flooring was sanded wooden boards, whilst the colour scheme was the usual shades of Farrow & Ball brown along with some duck egg blue. A small tiled fireplace was off to one side, and there were some old black and white prints on the wall.
There was a good choice of beers on tap, although all but one were from Wadworths with their 6X, Bishop’s Tipple, IPA, Horizon & Cooper’s Vice. These were joined by Yeovil’s Ruby. Ciders meanwhile were Thatcher’s Gold, Strongbow and Strongbow Dark Fruit.
