well im shocked to have just read the review about the ruined wedding at the castle and find this hard to believe as i had my 40th birthday party at this venue and my friend had her wedding reception there too,and i can say hand on heart that the management and staff were FIRST CLASS and totally professional.Nothing was too much trouble and was also offered a late licence if i required one which i took at NO EXTRA CHARGE.All i can say that there must have been some major sort of problem for them to want to close early what happened? did all your guests leave early? I know for a fact that this pub does stay open late so im sorry but i totally reccommend this venue to anyone wanting a lovely cosy and welcoming occasion. Well done!

unfortunatly before i had my wedding reception at this pub it was classed as a great place to hold functions, however the management and staff all ruined my wedding reception after taking payment for a hire of room till 1am they decided to close of my reception at 11pm id paid till 1am they told my guests at 8pm that they were not allowed to eat any more and was on verges of clearing up a very expensive buffet
the warning is do not hold your function at this place as they will stop your function when they want to go home, then had the cheek to give me three bottles of wine that id already paid for as a goodwill gesture. i am seeking legal procedings against this venue for full refund and appologies
