I am going to the pub today to eat at this lovely country pub,we have eaten there at least 4 times and enjoyed the food and surroundings. The food is home cooked and good value for money,I have never found the food greasy or the veg over cooked. There is a choice for all tastes, the roast is good but very large, I loved the shepherds pie. It seems always busy which may account for the slow service and the fresh veg coming last! The staff are adequate but could be friendlier. So I hope they read this and smile as they serve. Philip Gaskin, try again it is worth the drive or believe me I would not drive from East London. Julie WoolfWood

We tried to visit this pub late on a Wednesday afternoon, to find it closed. I have not rated it as we could not try it. As the other writeups are not favourable, we will not be making a special journey to try again.

went yesterday. Will not be going again. Food was extremely greasy and came out at various stages. Two out of four main meals were served, 5 mins later the other two main meals arrived and 5 mins after that the veg arrived, a large bowl of very over cooked sprouts, peas, carrots and beans. After waiting so long for the food we asked for another round of drinks and was told to go to the bar. More time for out food to go even colder. When staff finally asked if meal was ok (we had left much food on our plates!) and we said no it wasnt, the staff really could not have cared less. The staff in the pub really do not care what people think and it shows in their attitude. Not an apology or an ounce of concern for such negative comments made to them.
The meal was very very expensive for really a load of rubbish. If anyone eats in this pub they must have more money than sence!!!!
