Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Dukes
Old pub and restaurant with a thatched roof, also offering accommodation. Looked a bit closed as I approached, with blinds drawn on all front windows (but that was probably due to the late sun). Anyway, the rear door by the car park was open so I ventured inside, and you can certainly tell that it had been used as an Indian restaurant for a few years. The multi-room interior was rather gloomy, and the solitary handpump is long disused, so I took a Camden Hells (£5.85) out into the slightly split-level patio beer garden.

Much-lauded for its resurrection from conversion to an Indian restaurant around ten years ago, the re-conversion hasn't given much back in terms of decor as internally it's still rather Indian restaurant-like with brightly-painted walls, pine flooring, wicker-style chairs and sofas giving off more of a bar vibe. Leighton Buzzard Love Struck was the sole ale on, with one further pump unclipped. By contrast, The Axe & Compass and The Star were a lot busier on a February Tuesday evening

Former Grade II listed public house which was originally made into licenced premises in 1745 when two cottages were knocked together to form a pub.
Ceased being a pub in 2006 and is now an Indian restaurant called Shaanti
