A splendid 1930s pub serving the Landport estate with a largely unspoilt woody interior with lots of original features It more or less retains two bars, although entry is only through the Public, with a side area holding a pool table. It definitely felt like a proper local. Still just the Harvey's on handpump, although chalked beer lists mentioned Abbot, IPA and something called Force 7.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Tally Ho
1930s housing-estate pub that appears to retain many traditional features in the partly opened-out, multi-room layout. Pleasingly traditional look enhanced by the half-height dark wood-panelling, although I guess younger people might find it a bit gloomy. Although a Greene King house, it turned out that Harvey's (£4.70) was the sole cask ale on offer from the four handpumps, but thankfully that was in fine shape.

Opened in 1938 in classic Mock Tudor style for the Landport estate on the northern edge of Lewes overlooking the Ouse Valley below. It was a Beards Brewery pub until 1980 and is now a Greene King establishment serving two real ales (usually GK IPA). It is very much a community estate pub with its own darts team and football team (motto: Win or Loose, we are on the Booze), pool table, juke box plus the inevitable Sky Sports TV. There are events and music nights. Opens lunch times and evenings.
Originally two separate bars it is now one single room but still retains many of the original fixtures and fittings. Just around the corner in Meridian Road is a Meridian Marker Post.
