Another Greene King pub that has made the 2023 Good Beer Guide. This pub in the village of Northill is very food-led. In fact, almost all of the tables were taken with people ordering Sunday lunches. So, we grabbed a couple of stools at the bar, which was a good opportunity to chat a little with the friendly bar staff who were discussing the merits of shorthand or long-hand food ordering. Apparently an order of f/c had caused some confusion with the chef who had assumed it was for fishcakes, when it was in fact for fish and chips!
The pub enjoys a nice location between the village's church and pond. Real ales are IPA & Abbot.

The Greene King Abbot is excellent. Good selection of bar food, also served in the extensive garden in summer. Good restaurant with daily specials. Very friendly staff. Dogs welcome in the bar.
