I think I visited 5 pubs in Weymouth (one aborted due to 8pm closing on a Saturday) and this was easily the pick of the bunch.

Opposite side of the harbour to most of the tourist madness, but it is next to the most prominent chip shop in town. £15 for medium cod and chips, takeaway fans. So how pleasant to see a "tourist" pub with the prices keen and clearly marked before entering. £4.40 for Sea Fury is decent value.

Didnt spend much time inside - it was low ceilings and dark, with a central bar and rooms all around. But outside was pleasant and easy to get chatting to people.

A pleasant looking quayside pub, inside is rather rambling with a mix of decor throughout. It's an obvious tourist trap and was expectedly extremely busy on a Saturday lunchtime. Four cask beers albeit mainstream, Sharps Atlantic, Dartmoor Jail Ale, St Austell Tribute and Proper Job, the latter in fair condition.

Malden Man’s description, below, covers most bases, and his assumption of a Summer crowd is indeed correct. When we visited the interior was relatively empty, though the outside was heaving; there was no issue with people taking their glasses out to stand by the water and enjoy the weather. Ales on were London Pride, Doombar and Sea Fury, all in average condition. Overall a decent town pub.
