Title: Havant hopes dashed
Creator: Michael Wright
Description:
My first attempt at creating a crawl on PG, decided to try out Havant on a Thursday lunchtime, mainly because it has a few pubs in within walking distance of each other.
After trying 7 pubs I only managed to have two pints, both keg tap stuff. 2 pubs had ceased trading, one was not open, and 2 were packed out and I had no intention of struggling to the packed bar
I came home a wiser man, knowing that Havant town centre is a not for me
Star (1) | |
---|---|
![]() | This was my first stop, I had hoped to try something special, but only choice was London Pride tap. Had one pint, and then off to Pesreverance a few doors down, where I hoped for better things |
The Perseverance (2) | |
![]() | After the disapointment in the Star, the sign outside saying Cask Ales beckoned me in. Another hope dashed, only beer was keg Worthington Best. Had a pint of that whilst sitting on a torn sofa and looking at the pubphinalia around the walls and bar |
|
The Six Bells (3) | |
![]() | Walked down road to try Six bells, door closed, oh well, next stop White Hart |
|
The White Hart (4) | |
![]() | This one was closed, note on door "Thanks fro your custom" |
|
The Old House At Home (5) | |
![]() | Now I know where everyone went, they were all in here, but unfortunately this left no room for me, so left thirsty |
|
The Cobden Arms (6) | |
![]() | Crossed over Park Road to try Cobden Arms, another closed pub, this one lease for sale |
|
The Parchment Makers (JD Wetherspoon) (7) | |
![]() | Last chance Saloon, the Spoon's one. OMG, full of lunchtime diners and uncleared tables, I left without even attempting to get a drink |
