The Ship Inn, Lyme Regis

The Ship Inn is a back street locals pub that is a Palmers tied house. Once inside the pub was nice enough and seemed a bit old fashioned which i quite liked there were four Palmers beers on the bar i had a drink of Palmers 200 which was a decent drink the other beers were Palmers best bitter,Dorset Gold and Bridport best. I thought this was a decent pub to have a few drinks in. Pub visited 23 August 2000.

A detached back street pub, with yellow render and green painted exterior. The interior is open plan, with a pool room down on a slightly lower level. The decor was white walls and wood panel. There is a dart board and Sky TV. There is a wood floor, with lots of ephemera around, and a piano in the corner. I found the place clean enough. It is a local's pub and the small clientele all knew each other, not a problem with that, but i was treated a little abruptly at the bar when i asked for drinks. Beer; usual tap stuff, with Palmers 200, Bitter and Copper Ale, the bitter and ale being fine. Surroundings and beer were fine, the service a bit off. Would try it again, if treated the same way i would walk out.

Very friendly pub with a great ales selection from Palmers! Perfect for a break or to watch football or golf on TV! Also avalaible: darts, 8 pool and a jukebox. The ideal place for a drink (or more!).

awful! filthy, fly ridden, dirty glasses. the staff are nice but they should really be made to give the place a good clean. not a family friendly pub, shame really because its got a lovely location.
