The Pilot Boat, Lyme Regis

The Pilot Boat is a decent looking pub that is quite close to the sea front. once inside this pub most of the seating available was for diners only and the pub also had a modern look to it which i thought was a bit out of place in Lyme Regis. This pub is a Palmers tied house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was very nice the other beers were Palmers 200 and Dorset Gold. I might have enjoyed this pub more if it was less full and i could have got a seat.

A blue and white exteriored, squat corner pub, with a beer patio The interior is in this new modern style, having two rooms in white and light wood panel and high backed leather chairs. There was a mix of arty stuff and some traditional old pictures and ship memorabilia. It caters in one room mainly for diners, the other a more mixed room. The service was fine, the place fairly quiet and the music subdued. Beer' tap tosh as usual, but had Palmers 200 Premium, which was very nice, IPA Bitter and Copper Ale on handpull. The modern look isnt to my taste, the beer and service fine. Wouldnt hurry back, but not as bad as the Rock Point Inn in my view

well i think this pu is ok, nothing special not a lot going on really. do not see what the fuss is about!

Great pub,very modern inside and reasonably priced ales.Excellent all round service with a smile.

No more blackboard specials but the Pilot Boat has a great menu with local crab salad (£9.50) and some rather belt bulging sandwiches (from £3.95). Well kept beers and lagers. Friendly service either inside at the bar or in the quiet patio/garden area outside

Good pub, great views and nice food. Comprehensive menu with lots of fresh fish & seafood to choose from. Neat little balconies outside if weather is good, overlooking the sea. If its wet or cold then huge picture windows to look out of instead. Service behind the bar does tend to be on the slow side, but who cares when you're on holiday? Loos (ladies anyway) do leave something to be desired though!
