As described by others, below. Given that it was a seaside pub out of season and therefore not too busy, the attitude and demeanour of the barmaid was less pleasant than it might have been. Teh chef was more sociable and did chat to us before we left. It was fairly comfortable, and the prices weren’t too high for the location. Two ales on, Otter Bitter and Tribute, both in average condition. Keg choices were Korev, Guinness, Rattler, Carlsberg, Sam Miguel and three Thatcher’s fruit ciders. Not the best of the three pubs in this vicinity.

Okay little waterfront pub, but only a small verandah to the seaside, then the prom, with further seating beyond shared with a caff - but plastic only over there. Whuh? Hamstrings one's movement. Not too pricey a pint. Smells very strongly of fish with a strongly fruits de la mer menu. One for the piscivore.

This pub is in a prime spot overlooking the harbour and makes the most of it’s views with a small terrace at the front of the pub. Inside there are two rooms, although neither really feel that “pubby” – in many ways it’s got more of a cafe feel to it, although it’s by no means unpleasant. The front bar has black slate tiles on the floor and chunky wooden furniture as well as the bar counter. Up a couple of steps at the rear and you find the other room which looks to be more intended for diners than drinkers. This has rough wooden flooring and bench pine seating around the perimeter with plenty of cushions. There was some exposed stonework on the walls that had been painted cream and elsewhere the plasterwork was a mixture of dark blue and maroon. Various pieces of artwork were dotted around the walls, much of it for sale. I use the term “artwork” loosely – one particularly large piece opposite where I was sitting consisted merely of light blue paint across the top gradually fading to dark blue paint at the bottom. Other than that, the only thing on there was a couple of smudges that could perhaps have been interpreted as someone walking a dog on the beach. At £860 it didn’t really strike me as much of a bargain. Food wise, the menu tended very much towards fish dishes as might be expected going on it’s location. I had the Creamy smoked haddock, prawn and salmon fish pie while Mrs. B had Crab fish cakes with a chilli sauce. Both were decent dishes, and although not cheap at around £12 each, you get what you pay for and we were both quite happy with them. Beers on tap were Otter Ale, Otter Bitter and Tribute. Ciders were Thatcher’s Gold and Cornish Rattler. Overall, I quite liked this place – decent food, good location and friendly staff. But if you’re after a more traditional pub, it may not be for you.

A detached pub/restaurant on the sea-front, with tiled front and greenish painted verandah, there was also a beer patio on the beach if that makes sense! The interior is modern, which is hell on a personal front for me - if you like that kind of thing, i am sure you will love this. The place is generally open plan, but seems all food orientated, so i would class this as a restuarant first, rather than a 50-50 mix. The decor was a green, with the arty pictures. I didnt eat, so i am not commenting here on the food. The service was fine and it was busy, with a mixed clientele, so i guess i am in the minority! I simply headed out to the beach patio. Beer; usual tap stuff, with Otter Bitter and Ale and St Austell Tribute on handpull. Sadly, it was served in a plastic glass, but secondly it was too cold. Sorry, but modern interior and beer too cold meant i really didnt enjoy my visit here. I would do the Cobb and try the Royal Standard next time.
