Hardy's, Dorchester

A smart looking detached, yet town centre pub/eatery that also offers accommodation, with a triple gabled frontage in cream and a beigey colour. The interior is a massive L shape that curls around the long wood panelled serving bar and ending in a games area, which has a dart board and pool table. Indeed, wood fatures heavily in the decor, with wood panle, wood floor and ceiling beams, though there are some salmon coloured walls and cream and wood panel in the games area. There were no real pictures or ephemera and the seating was a mix of sofas, settles and general table chairs. The service was friendly and there were a few locals in. There was a TV, but it wasn't on and the music was general and very quiet. Beer; all tap stuff, no real ale. I had Addlestone's Cider for a change, it was fine. With no real ale, i wouldn't bother again, but if you simply drink keg, it is spacious and has the pub games and seemed friendly enough to me
