As described by BF, this was a lengthy and damp traipse to reach this prefab industrial shed in the middle of nowhere. There are just three cask lines in this stark room, with décor amounting to little more than a mural depicting Burton’s brewing heritage to a walk and the only entertainment came in the form of watching the barman’s wife playing with their toddler. Thereafter there’s a dartboard, with arrows doubtless deflected by the propane heater’s gas jet arcing across the board. As mentioned, it’s not cheap here, me plumping for the Burton Town Brewery Cascade IPA, being somewhat unmemorable, the experience marred slightly by the barman totting up every drink as if one of us – me – was buying a round. I can’t think of a reason to come here again; the limited opening hours are a further disincentive.
