Double fronted pub in an elegant 18th or 19th century white painted building. The counter is in a room to the right, three pulls with on this occasion beers from Church End, a Titanic porter variety and one from Leatherbritches, plus of selection of 10 higher end national kegs including of course a cider and Guinness, a nearby fridge has a good range of Belgian beers. To the left is a larger sitting room with barrel tables, rectangular wooden tables, tractor seats and other seating options. The main bar is small and awkwardly shaped partly due to the large counter supported on barrels, otherwise not a bad place. Toilets straight ahead from the entrance corridor, there may be a garden down there too and there are seats on the pavement outside.

Well described in the review below, with three hand pumps all in action at the time of my visit, and plenty of keg beers and Belgian bottles available too. All the cask beers were a bit on the strong side for me, especially after having a 5% lager in the previous pub. I went for the lowest, Wye Valley Samba 4.4%, which was ok but a bit sweet and perfumey for my taste. The young man behind the bar was very welcoming, helpful and engaging. At £3.50 a pint my beer was the cheapest of the day in Tamworth, with the sole exception of my last one before my train, in the Phoenix.
