Hogarths, Rochdale

Faux gin palace with cheap beer, it will definitely appeal to the Wetherspoons drinkers that want to watch the sport. The crowd in here were quite a bit older than the other pubs but no less loud. On the bar a very generic range of beers with Moorhouses Under The Sun alongside something dull that I can’t remember, I didn’t really care much for the place, but it’s probably better in midweek.

The bar area on the left hand side is very striking with two large columns supporting a large pediment with a massive flat screen TV incorporated. The bar front had lots of large polished timber draw fronts along with handles along with a couple of mocked up safe door fronts. The chandelier in the main lounge area was impressive and the original steel safe doors, I especially liked the small room at the rear, which was tastefully finished. Three ales on handpump, Bombardier, Theakston's Light Foot and Moorhouse's Blonde Witch. The Moorhouse's was decent and prices were very reasonable.
