The Cross House Tavern, Tewkesbury

An outstanding micro as described below, this was a very welcome break from a long drive down the M5, well worth the effort. It remains as described, a micro disguised as a traditional local. Ales on draught were Wobbly Bob, Shropshire Gold, Severn Boat, BBF Milk Stout, Church End Goat’s Milk, Silver King, Jarl, White Rat and black Forest Cherry Stout. We didn’t ge to to try all of them, but those we did were in perfect condition. The ciders were from Minchew’s, Heartlands, Chisel Jersey, Dabinets and New Orchard. This is a definite for a revisit and an essential part of a town crawl.

Lovely old exterior and interior with the bar at the front and more seating at the rear. A must visit if in the area.

Perfect litle micro pub, that I was so impressed with, I was googling travelodge prices whilst waiting for a storm to pass over. £30 in December. I think I will come back, so much to explore in this interesting town. Two roomed, ales balanced on the bar and gravity fed. A large collection of ciders and perries. Bulding itself a black and white timbered beauty.
