Thread, Stockport

This shop conversion is a fairly recent addition to Stockport and acts as the Brewery tap for the Mobberley Brewhouse. On handpumps were Sidekick, Citra and 1924. There are ten or so keg pumps on the wall to the rear of the bar. Reclaimed wooden boards are fixed to the walls and ceilings, there are some brick slips and a stack of barrels down the back end. Much of the seating is at high tables. Food seemed to consist of pizzas. Not one for the traditional pub fans but a nice friendly spot nevertheless with decent and fairly priced beer.

This is a former shop converted into a trendy bar by the Mobberley brewery. It's a long rectangular room with what looks like some exposed brickwork but if you look closely you will see is fake. There was music playing and a kitchen at the far end that seemed to be mainly for pizzas. The bar has three hand pumps which had the Mobberley Taking The Pith, Roadrunner & Maori. I went for the Taking The Pith (£3.60) which was first class. Rather like the Remedy bar across the road this isn't my sort of place but would almost certainly return.
