Craven Brew Co. Tap Room, Keighley

Craven Brewery’s tap which is fitted out in more of a pub style than many small breweries based in industrial units. On a small industrial estate just on the northern outskirts of the village, it is in a modern industrial unit however inside it has board floors, typical pub furnishings and brewery adverts. The counter has six pulls with a selection of Craven’s beers, two bitters, two pales, a dark and a co-lab lager with Northern Monk, only on this occasion of course. A long T-bar on the L shaped counter has ten taps half with Craven beers and ciders, half with better national brands. There’s a small screen and piped music, mainly 1960s and 1970s hits so not objectionable to me and a little drowned out by the cellar cooling fans. I found the staff not particularly on the ball, slow to notice waiting punters and pulling the wrong beer for example, the beer quality ranged from excellent to in one case undrinkable probably a cask end. The actual brewery is partially visible in the stairwell leading to an upstairs seating area and additional toilets. Handily close to bus stops for Skipton and Keighley.
