Wilson's Social, Manchester

Wilson’s Social has a central U-shaped serving counter that was being manned by a less than welcoming barman during a recent Tuesday evening visit. Tables run across the front and up the left-hand side. In the front right is a stage and mid-way up the right-hand wall is a DJ booth, neither were being used but there was some decent upbeat background music that helped with the atmosphere. In the right rear is a pool table. It’s a shame that the service was so curt because this isn’t that bad a place.

I actually thought this was just an upmarket cafe until I went in and found it doubles up as a craft bar, so I had a half of Track Sonoma with my breakfast, it was ok but not really a drinking venue for a session.

Smart, one roomed, craft keg bar with a selection of high tables. low tables, bench seating and booths, they're all in here. There's a small outside drinking area with a few tables and there's a music venue downstairs. Lots of post work people, mainly on their late twenties and early thirties. It seems to be very girlie friendly as well as the sexes were about equally numbered. A half of Beavertown Neckoil set me back a rather steep £2.75, pretty much as expected. I quite liked it in here and a couple of handpumps would add another point or so.
