Thirsty Giraffe, Newcastle Under Lyme Central, Newcastle under Lyme

This has been well described below and the feature that stood out for me was the very silly giraffe model. There was some music playing but it wasn't obtrusive and the large TV on one wall was off. It's probably on the larger side for a micropub and was comfortably furnished. By an extraordinary coincidence the beers on were exactly the same as listed below. I went for the Neptune Sea Monkeys (£3.20) which was excellent. I thought this one was well worth a visit.

I really liked this micro pub,opposite the 10 Green Bottles and in another shop conversion.The giraffe theme has been incorporated in many artifacts,and punters are encouraged to have a photo taken besides the model giraffe.Elsewhere there are functional tables and chairs,and a small bar with a very friendly welcome from the young owner,who was a mine of information both about his beer selection and the local real ale scene.The interior is not as flash as over the road,and this place had the clear vibe of a micro pub with good banter from the other customers. 4 handpumps offered a good mix of styles with ,on my trip,Big Bang Theory West Coast Pale Ale,Big Bog Welsh Pale Ale,Neptune Sea Monkeys and a very good Beartown Creme Bearlee,the product of a new brewer at Beartown.There were also four interesting keg beers and I would most certainly visit again and spend longer in here next time .Top pub.
