The Potting Shed, Northallerton

Apparently converted from hospital to hospitality, this is the sort of large establishment that you enter not expecting much and don't get disappointed. The decor is contrived, the "garden" (with a few sheds) is pathetic and the place felt more like a pizza and wings restaurant than a pub. The customers on this visit were mostly elderly females and families, although perhaps it gets livelier when the promised entertainments are on. Still not somewhere I would choose go to drink at, as exemplified by the beers which were Wainwright Gold, Banks's Amber and the house "Potting Shed Ale" which the barman admitted was just the Banks's. Disappointing.
