Situated on platform 4 on Carlisle railway station this new bar has in a previous life been a station buffet and more recently a waiting room and is classed as a sympathetic recreation of a period Victorian luncheon bar.On entry the bar faces you and you cannot fail to notice the high arched ceiling and large fireplace to the left. Very quiet on my 1pm Wednesday lunchtime visit possibly due to the fact that it could easily be missed because of the enormous amount of scaffolding that has now been here for 18 months.On the bar(A restored Victorian one imported from Ireland)were the usual suspects plus 7 cask pumps although only functioning.
