Bewdley Brewery Tap Room, Bewdley

Tucked away down a side road in a small industrial estate. It’s a large and well-done place over two rooms with plenty of RAT-friendly stuff in railway ephemera and breweriana – the two teenage girls who popped in on what was clearly their first Christmas pub crawl looked fantastically non-plussed by it all. Seven of Bewdley Brewery’s on, with good quality across the board via a paddle of three thirds I ordered for each of us as there was a really good selection of styles and strengths, making the usual order of a pint too difficult for us to execute. Much better than the usual tap room and well-worth a visit in its own right and it looks much-improved compared to some earlier reviews.

Housed in a former Church National School, this pub has a large open plan room (incorporating former rooms) with a serving bar off to one side. There was no music or TV. The service was great and the clientele more mature. A large outdoor area, with a marquee if needed is also present. Six ales on from the Bewdley Brewery stable, with an excellent Mucklow MILD. A must do.
