Palmer Street Bottle, Frome

A nice friendly craft bar, a small front area where the bar is situated with a few tables and chairs but there is a much larger seating area to the rear. Keg only but reputedly all live beer though this was disputed by some, I have no Idea so won't score my choice of Fourman Kite, a nice grapey pale. It's certainly a place I'd use on a regular basis if I were local.

A few of us called in here after our disappointing experience in the micropub around the corner. The beers here are all served from a wall of keg taps, with thirds, halves, two-thirds and pints all priced up (except for pints of the 8.4% DIPA) and details of brewery, beer name, style and strength all easily read from a distance. Service was super friendly and interested. "Are you on a pub crawl?" we were asked. No, I said, this is a pub research trip, which got a friendly grin from at least one of the young women behind the counter. My third of a 4.5% hazy pale was better than tolerable and we all had a lovely time here.
