The Three Legs Taproom, Rye

I know brewery taps are two a penny in some parts, but Three Legs Brewing Co Brewery Tap is the first I've visited. Based on a proper muddy farm in that rather mystical hinterland of Rye and Hastings in East Sussex, I was alerted to the Tap by the Look at Brew Blog. On a damp November Saturday I pitched up in the yard to see a farm building conversion. Inside, a temporary bar divided the working area of the brewery from the trestles at the front where the punters sit. Open at weekends (see website) the Tap offers tasters of all the beers available, as well as an off-sales facility, using rather medicinal looking returnable glass flagons. It was heartening to see a steady stream of customers coming in for take home supplies, as well as enjoying a pint in situ. In a previous life, the "Legs" were involved in the wine trade, and some interesting looking bottles were available, alongside some useful cheeses. A bit too far for me to come and stock up regularly,unfortunately. Visited in November 2016.
