Pump Room Micropub, Halifax

Decent micropub with 6 hand pulls and 5 kegs in good order. Virtually opposite the bus station which was convenient for me. Would return if back in the area.

Named in tribute to the much loved pub now demolished, allegedly to provide a carpark entrance but currently yet another derelict site in central Halifax. This one is a single room micropub panelled with wood recycled from pallets down one side, otherwise it's traditionally furnished mainly in brown wood with a leather sofa and armchair in the front corner. The counter at the back stands in front of the standard micro pub glass cabinet with space for 12 casks and some cider boxes. The counter is made of a sideboard and other furniture off cuts, and is home to six pulls and five keg founts. Minimal decor of animal horns, clocks, a few pictures; some of the objects are reputed to have come from the old Pump Room. The beer is well kept as is expected in a micropub.
