The Queen Of Hope Street, Liverpool

At The Queen Of Hope Street, there's 8 pumps lined up along the bar: the first dispensing Seacider, the rest mostly local ales, with Theakston as an interloper. Dortmunder Union and Erdinger offer something different in the keg range. £4.20 for a pint of ale seemed absurdly cheap to me, even if the beer was a little hazy (though not in the modern style). There's also a limited food offering. The pub features stone flooring with mostly perimeter seating leaving plenty of room to pack them in, so I can see The QOHS getting fairly loud later in the evening. In summary, it's alright, but there's obviously better elsewhere in the city centre.

I've visited this place when it was The Refinery, but didn't have a drink as it was a mess and fizz only. Thankfully things have changed and it's now a pleasant, if rather large bar with a good selection of real ale in good nick. We're often around this part of Liverpool, so we'll be calling in again.
