Helm, Brighton

Visited 10/08/24 This place re-opened only about a year ago and had passed a few times when in Brighton with my better half. Being a Saturday evening and having visited all the pubs in the immediate vicinity (not just today) this place looked an inviting and different alternative. Essentially it is an art gallery with a lot of pop art adorning the walls. There is a downstairs space but didn’t venture that far from the bar, which was immediately on the right-hand side as you enter the venue. High quality designer tables and chairs are arranged down the left hand, floor to ceiling windows and the floor was a lovely polished concrete. The walls are white (as you would expect) and there are a few larger pieces of leather furniture towards the middle and back. The centre of the venue is, as you would expect, kept clear as I would expect they use the venue for shows etc. There were also a few stools at the bar and the staff serving were delightful. No cask. Keg was own branded Helm lager, Neck Oil, Singha and Silly Moo unfiltered cider. Didn’t fancy any of those so had a couple of 175ml glasses of a very decent Pinot Noir. Again, rated low at 4 here for consistency of how I would rate a bar in a venue like this but very pleasant and well worth a pop in if you fancy quick break from Brighton pub ticking or crawling!

Burgers and Cocktails is a restaurant/diner. I walked in and back out again so no rating left because this is not a bar or a pub.
