This place was really busy on my early Saturday afternoon visit and the departure of my train was fast approaching so this was a bit of a rushed visit. There was some sort of bash on and some present were dressed up in 1940s clothing but no German uniforms that I could see. I think there were six beers and two ciders. I noticed Brewsters Marquis, Framework Treacle Stout, Burton Bridge Golden Delicious, Market Harborough Premium Brown and something from Lincoln Green. I went for the Premium Brown (£3.50) which was excellent. This seemed a decent micropub to me and one I would happily return to hopefully with a bit more time to spare.

Tucked away off the main square. Not many people in on Saturday afternoon, but there again the weather was pretty awful that day. Eight hand pumps of which the higher ABVs were stout and porter. There were various bottles and cans in the fridge.

Probably the most disappointing micro-pub I have been in. Maybe the timing was a bit off - they had received a pub of the year presentation from local Camra the night before - but of the eight hand pumps, four featured ciders and of the others, one had a porter and the three others were all pale and fruity modern-style beers (citrus or pomegranate). This is a modern shop unit just off the market square, so there is no cellar and beer is stillaged on the right, near the bar. We felt that the decor and furniture were uncomfortable, and we didn't get much of a welcome either - though this may have been morning-after-the-night-before. Perhaps my rating of 5 is a little low, and maybe a future visit will turn out to be a better experience. Date of visit: 22nd March 2016
