Walkley Beer Co., Walkley, Sheffield

For me, this micropub and off license was the highlight of this trip to Sheffield. After climbing up the hill from the Blind Monkey, I thought that we thoroughly deserved a beer. Just a couple of cask ales were on, but both were kept in excellent condition. They were Shiny Lil Wingman & Black Jack Early-Days Northern Porter. The cider was Ascension Pilot. Meanwhile, craft beers were New Bristol Wonderland, Hammerton Paw Paw, Redwillow Perceptionless x Citra, Shiny Shorty & Crossover Morillon. Fridges against the side wall also had an excellent range of bottles and cans. The owner/barman was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about beers. This place now opens 6 days a week (closed Monday). I'm really surprised that it no longer makes the Good Beer Guide (last in the Guide in 2018). They must have upset the local branch. As a casual visitor, I was impressed.
