The Beer Engine, Skipton

The best beer range in Skipton? Probably. We were only in Skipton for 2 nights and called in here 3 times. A micropub that has been extended into the premises next door. The bar is straight ahead as you enter. There's a further room to the right (the extension) with more tables and seating. It's very cosy in the original bit, so you pretty much have to chat to people. Very friendly, both staff and customers. Lots of dogs in on all our visits. Tried everything on the bar during our stay in Skipton and all the beers were in very good nick. Can't see us coming to Skipton again without calling in here.

A micro with an extension - running into two former shop spaces, I would estimate. Single front door. Quality beer by knowledgeable staff - a Thornbridge Tap Takeover was on - and Jaipur on Cask is a joy to behold. Plenty of other choice from this brewery - so could have stayed all night. Saving me from myself, they had run out of Necessary Evil on Keg :-) Top micro.
