The Tankerton Arms, Whitstable

This one is set in an Eastern suburb of Whitstable not far from the seafront and is a fair walk from the centre. The daytime bus services were good, I got a 4 out and a 6 back. It's a single rectangular room with a more neutral colour scheme than the Black Dog. Once again it has just tall tables and benches. Old photographs adorn the walls and high shelves on each side display a collection of beer bottles. On my Thursday early afternoon visit there were about ten people in but there was still seating available. Just three beers were on from the cold room Wantsum 1383 & Golgotha Stout and Kent Prohibition IPA. I went for the Kent beer which was outstanding. I thought this was a good micropub, it's a shame there is no room for lower tables and seating. This one has more typical micropub hours :- Monday closed Tuesday-Thursday 12:00 - 14:00 and 17:00 - 21:30 Friday 12:00 - 14:00 and 17:00 - 23:00 Saturday 12:00 - 23:00 Sunday 12:00 - 15:00
