Beer in Hand, Hereford

Ale house on the edge of the city, long thin room in a modern beer house feel. A couple of cask beers from the barrel but within glass cabinets, presumably for temperature control and lots of keg offerings. Outside space on the side. Nicely presented tidy place with good service and beer

Long and narrow Crafty-meets-Micro mash-up (is *really* a micropub?) located away from the immediate town centre on the other side of the thundering ring road. Interior isn’t much to write home about bar the impressive fan effect created by the mounting of old pump clips on the ceiling. Four cask from a wall linked to the impressive purpose-built, glass-fronted, chilled racking system behind the bar. My Silver Linings Stout by Good Chemistry Brewing was fair though slightly over-vented (NBSS 3). Perhaps of more useful note is the large range of cider and perry. Nice atmosphere inside, accompanied by a ‘seen it all before’ pub dog. Worth putting on the crawl list but doesn’t feel like a place to linger. GBG listed, as you’d expect.
