Tap Room No 12, Ormskirk

This is probably the pick of the pubs and bars in Ormskirk if you want a decent beer. On my initial stroll past just before midday on a Sunday, the closed sign was still in the door. However after a little wander, I returned to find it open. Formed of a large, single room, this former shop could be classified as a micropub. However, it feels more like a bar than a micropub. There was some nice wood panelling on the walls and there appeared to be a music theme, with old posters and pictures of artists on the walls. At the bar, there are 4 handpulls. Cask ales on were Windermere Ruff Justice, RedWillow Feckless & Buxton Axe Edge. The fourth pull was clipped with a cider - Iford New Tradition. This was the only real cider I managed to find on my tour of the Ormskirk area. Although I did fail to visit the Kas Social, which may also have stocked one or two. Craft beers were Thornbridge Jaipur & Green Mountain, Super 8 Cherry & Lost & Grounded Wanna' Go To The Sun.

Bit bigger than a micro, it’s a single room with the counter at the back, four pulls with tiny breweries beers on three and a cider on the fourth. One side has drawings of music stars the other a collection of cupboards with cans and bottles. Rear single use but separate toilets. Pretty good and a must visit in Ormskirk.
