Walking here from the station is a bit dismal. You'll have half an idea of what to expect from the gaudily decorated exterior and the interior is indeed on that level - looking like a hippy has exploded at the Moulin Rouge - though through the tat there's a nice fireplace and an odd feature of radiators fitted in front of the lower servery. Inevitably there's a chunk of left-wing omnicause politics to be seen Because Bristol. Cupboard of board games available and a proper skittles alley is behind the bar, a genuine rarity these days. Four cask on pump at the bar from local producers as well as a fair amount of ciders. Decided to go for Left Handed Giant's Golden Mild and got a decent one (NBSS 3.5) even if the beer was really not to my taste. A place that will divide opinion – I thought it was a bit try-hard but then again, I grew up in Bristol and find it all rather tiresome. But the beer was good and the pub is GBG listed.
