St John's Tavern, SW11

Posted an updated piccy if this place a week ago when I turned up but they weren’t open. This markets itself as a craft beer Mecca so I was keen to see if it lived up to the boast. It is a long rectangular venue with some outside seating obviously popular this evening. The bar is on the right hand side as you walk in with a haphazard set of tables just inside congregated around the big pull down screen showing the footy. There are some stools at the bar and some booth style seating beyond the bar. The biggest disappointment was out of the board showing 20 beers on tap (picture posted), half of them were not available and a good number of the ones available are what you would call as very standard pub keg offering. For that reason I regard this place that markets itself for what it intends to be, below average. With the Beehive being closed on Monday’s, this felt like a disappointing diversion (OK my fault for not checking) as in isolation this venue is definitely not worth any form of diversion to check out.
