The Admiral Rodney Inn, Swadlincote

The Admiral Rodney is a pretty normal looking pub from the outside. Once inside the pub had a single room that looked quite smart,the room was L shaped with comfy bench seats and cottage style chairs,there was a small area to the left which had a beamed ceiling. There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Slaters Premium bitter which was well kept but not to my taste,the other beers were Lancaster Blonde,Wadworth 6X and Pedigree. This was a nice pub to sit and relax in over a pint. Pub visited 29/9/2012

A nice, yet strange shaped buidling - like two Georgian houses pushed together, squashing a small building in between! The exterior has half white render and half cream. It looks neat. Local CAMRA pub of the year for 2008. The interior is open plan, bar area (stools) gives way to a lounge area (sofas), then onto a dining area (tables and chairs). There are lots of bits of memorabilia dotted about on the plain coloured white and beigey (i think) coloured walls Beer; Everard's Sunchaser, Bombardier and Hop Back Summer Lightning; i have tasted better Sunchaser. It remains a decent enough place and does carry off the blend of older and modern. We pop in here on a semi-regular basis.

A superb atmosphere,very friendly staff & locals Marstons on tap with a selection of guest beers that change frequently. Sampled a couple of pints of Woods ale very good
