Treehouse, Otley

An odd place with a traditional frontage but the interior is highly modern apart from a very old wall presumably the original back wall of the building. The front area extends into an L shape with the counter in the rear right corner, opposite is an arch leading to a pallet wood lined seating area with a window into the kitchen and a couple of fake trees holding up a mezzanine , “The Canopy” possibly occupying a former yard. The upper floor seems to be used as a function room and has its own counter with a T-Bar. There’s also an upstairs area at the front, “The Nest” reached by stairs at either end of the ground floor. Beer is limited to three handpumps, two in action with Black Sheep Bitter and a decent Three Swords, the usual sort of keg choice is available. A modern bar so there are a few large screens and constant music. The toilets are upstairs in a corridor linking the upper areas.

Korks Wine Bar is a modern type bar that is housed in an old stone building. Once inside there is a single L shaped room,the bar is on the right side,there are some bar stools along the bar and one table and two chairs to the front right,this is all the seating available in the drinking area,the left side is for diners and has a half size wall separating it from the bar area. There were three pumps on the bar with one unclipped,i had a drink of Kirkstall Pale Ale which was a very nice drink,the other beer was Black Sheep bitter. Quiet background music was playing during my Saturday dinner visit. The bar was fairly busy with diners,but there also were a few drinkers in. I thought this was quite a pleasant bar with a decent drink to boot. Pub visited 8/11/2014
