Gwysaney Arms Hotel, Mold

Have found in the Antelope a place where the atmosphere is relaxed & friendly. I have been there with a large family party & taken small groups of friends to eat there. Without exception everyone fully enjoyed the experience, the food served was excellent in taste & was hot, something I don't find very often these days in some establishments I have visited. The staff are very friendly & polite & couldn't do enough to ensure we had an enjoyable time there, the children loved the indoor play area, couldn't get them out of there. I have had occasion to stay the night at the Antelope & found the room very clean & spacious & from what I could see all the rooms were the same & would definitely recommend anyone to pay them a visit.

Saturday 3rd March 2012. Party of 15. Pre-booked. There was a very warm welcome by the very friendly staff for our party and food orders were taken very quickly. It turns out that there was a problem in the kitchen with one of their hotplates and whilst this did not affect our starters it did mean there was a long wait between servings for our main meals. They also wanted to serve all at once whereas those who were not having starters would have preferred to have had it staggered. Still we did not communicate this to them so allowances needed to be made. In connection with the food I think you would have to go a very long way to better the value. They currently have a 2 meals for £10 offer and a lot of out party took advantage of that. The portions were huge and there were plenty of chips and veg. So much so that most of the party had no room for deserts so unfortunately, I cannot comment on their value. Also our party enjoyed the Real Ales on offer and the wide selection of wines. As with most establishments these days the cost of soft drinks was a complete rip-off (my personal pet-hate). The ambiance was very pleasant and the service was very courteous and light-hearted. The meal was enjoyed by everybody even if a little longer than expected. Well done and will definitely visit again when back in the area.

Quite a large pub on the A541 between Mold and Denbigh. There is a large public bar and a restaurant that extends into the conservatory. Real Ales are available. There is a lawned area to the side of the pub with tables and childrens swings. Large car park
