Òran Mór, Kelvinside, Glasgow

Formerly a church,now converted to a smart drinking venue on the ground floor ,a restaurant to one side and a performance area down stairs where a large selection of events take place.It's a local landmark opposite the entrance to the Botanical Gardens on a busy crossroads ,but climbing up the entrance steps you are transported into an interesting space with fine stonework,stained glass windows and a wood covered island bar with traditional furniture and just a few high tables to pitch down on.There is a large space for drinking and it's popular with diners as well.There is a lot of art hanging on the walls,and some very well know actors who have performed here are also pictured. Two handpumps were both reversed but would have been Greene King IPA and Abbot so no great loss.The keg beer selection is very mainstream and my Drygate Kelvin was passable. Not enough to justify a session,I was there to catch a performance and it's an interesting place.
