Masons Arms, High Peak

This former Robinsons house has now become a free house, with grey painted exterior and an interior that won't be winning any prizes in 50 years time. Hard to describe, but my notes made at the time mentioned "loud music, and decor to match". There are eight hand pumps, but this isn't so much a real ale destination pub as a back street local. The beers included Robinsons Unicorn and Storm Silk of Amnesia (both doubled), plus Holts Bitter (which I went for), Wainwright and one each from Milestone and Stockport Brewery. The beer was fine, but I regretted getting a pint rather than my usual half, because the noise made it a bit uncomfortable for me to stay here long enough to drink it. Date of visit: 17th April 2019

The Masons Arms is a Robinsons house situated on a steep hill just outside the town centre. The pub looks quite attractive from the outside although this does flatter to deceive as the interior is a little tired looking and perhaps could do with a little TLC.On entering there is room to the immediate right(which on my short visit resembled more of a crèche than anything else)with the bar also on the right,with a middle seating area plus piano to the left of the entrance.Sampled a pint of the 1872 which was ok but nothing to write home about.
