Kings Arms, Mitcham

Visited 24/08/26 No cask. A few seemingly decorative hand pumps on the bar counter. Keg offering of Fosters, original SB, Heineken, Stella, John Smiths, Madri, Guinness, Carlsberg, Carling, Inch's, Moretti and Perroni. Grand corner venue with seating out the front on the grassed square side of the venue, paved and traditional picnic benches with a decent amount of cover. Inside it is carpeted and very ornamental and I imagine a shadow of its former self. The U-shaped bar counter occupies the centre of the floor space and seating around the front and sides a mixture of regular tables and chairs, dark brown leather studded sofas plus some upholstered benches. There are some red upholstered swivelling stools at various parts of the longer sides of the bar counter. Some grand wood surround fireplaces on the right-hand wall and the rear of that side hosts a pool table and a dartboard. The left-hand side has a long banquette under the window looking out over the beer garden at the side of the venue and the single TV was tuned into the racing action absent commentary, the sound provided by a 60's based music soundtrack.

The Kings Arms is a large old looking pub that is in the middle of Mitcham. Once inside there was one large room with the bar in the middle,this room was very comfortable with bench seating and normal tables and chairs,it was carpeted throughout. This pub is a Youngs tied house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Youngs bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers wee Youngs Special and Winter Warmer. This pub had a warm cosy feel to it and i was quite content having a drink in here. This is the pub i would happily have a session in if in Mitcham again. Pub visited 7/1/2006
