Costello's, Altrincham

Home of the Dunham Massey brewery - nice leaflet on the tables explaining the drinks choice. Micro pub, with outside sheltered seating in a pretty square full of quirky independent outlets. As you would expect, the Stamford Best Bitter was in perfect condition.

Costello’s is a single room bar with seating out the front on Goose Green square. It was surprisingly busy with an after work crowd of around twenty in attendance during my visit late on Wednesday afternoon. A few stools line the right hand wall bar that faces open plan seating consisting of standard and high tables. There is no television, but there was some background music playing. There is a limited premium keg range and I counted seven handpumps. These were drawing Dunham Massey Brewing’s Big Tree, Landlady, Castle Hill, Milk Stout and Stout alongside Lymm’s Heritage Trail Ale and Dam. I found the service to be very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed meaning that I would return here if back in the area.

I like it in Costello's. A good selection of the Dunham beers available on cask. Mixed seating. Friendly service.
