The Weighing Room is set in an old mill which up till a while ago was called The Pelican,and is a classy place away from the hustle and bustle of Bridge Street,.On arrival you enter a long thin room with the bar to your right and further past this is a well laid out smart heated alfresco dining area called 'The Paddock'There is also an outdoor bar serving draught beers,and jumbrellas in the event of inclement weather. Upstairs is 'The Enclosure'which has many authentic mill features including the original crane wheel,and is mainly used for private functions. I think the place is owned by the Racecourse and is geared up for the Champers brigade,although the staff were friendly and happy for you just to have a drink.
