Commonhall St Social, Chester

Upmarket bar owned by Chester racecourse. The entrance and the bar itself is narrow, but it goes back quite a way. This was the only part open on our Wednesday evening visit and their were only another 6 or so people in. There are a set of jockey weighing scales in the bar and the walls have jockeys colours in frames on them. It's very smart in here and the barstaff were very friendly The bar is towards the rear and there is a choice of high end lagers available. I had a Peroni which was OK for fizz. The other half thought the red wine was very good. The prices are a bit steep, but not stupidly so. I thought it was OK in here, but the other half loved it, so we'll be back.
