The Bulls Head Hotel (JD Wetherspoon), Manchester

A large Wethers with multi-areas to sit. There are at least 5 offshoot areas and the bar is to your left on entering. To the rear is a beer garden know as The Bull Ring. As noted there are 10 handpumps but sadly when the 'Wethers 3' were discounted the choice was pretty poor today. Still, its a nice enough place and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to hide yourself away in.

This is an old main road pub that looked to me like it's Victorian. Although it was clearly once a hotel it isn't being used as one by Wetherspoons. Although it's open plan it is split into various areas. I turned up here on a Friday morning for a breakfast so it wasn't that busy. The bar has ten hand pumps which had one unused, the two GK beers, four festival ciders, Peerless Triple Blonde & El Dorado and Thwaites/ Marston Wainwright. I went for the Triple Blond (£2.45) which was in good nick and went down a treat with a breakfast. I thought this one was a good Spoons.

Best pub in Walkden by a country mile. Exquisite refurb. Toilets are excellent. Only venue in the town to serve real ale.
