Foresters Inn, Nottingham

A plain white rendered, yet tidy looking corner pub. The interior has three rooms, though I didn’t see the small room up the stairs and the lounge, which was in a chocolate and cream decor had the lights turned out at my visit, so I saw little of that. The main bar room is accessed via the main door and the serving bar faces you. It is an L-shaped room in red and white walls and ceiling, with some patterned wallpaper and a wood floor. There wasn’t much in the way of pictures on the walls or ephemera lying around. There was no TV that I saw and the music was general and at a decent level. The service was very friendly and the pub was populated by locals, some rather loud, as well as a nice lady we chatted to who was also doing some of the MILD trail pubs. Beer; Oakwell’s Barnsley Bitter and their decent Dark MILD on handpull, with Oakwell Lager on keg along with the ubiquitous Guinness and Strongbow. The pub was fine and it was really nice to try Oakwells again after a year or so. Worth popping into for the change and one I would definitely go back to.
