Red Lion, Irlams O' Th' Height, Salford

I popped into the Red Lion just before it closed on a recent Wednesday evening. I managed to get a half, but service was reluctant. There’s a central bar counter with carpeted seating up the right and a tiled standing area at the rear. In the front left is a pool room and the left rear houses a dartboard above a fireplace. A flight of stairs leads up the rear wall, not sure where to. This place is the most interesting feature wise of the three pubs along this stretch, but I found it to be the least friendly.

A large looking Holts pub. Multi-areas to sit and all served by a U-shaped bar. Traditional in style and pleasant enough. Real ale was Holts Bitter. It didn't seem as popular as the other two pubs on the road but I liked the most.

The Red Lion is a decent looking oldish pub. Once inside the pub had a nice smart lounge where i had a drink,there was also a bar which was a bit more basic,the pub is a Joseph Holt tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Holts bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Holts mild. I quite liked this pub. Pub visited 7/12/1988
