George Vaults, Rochester

The George Vaults is a Glass fronted establishment with a modern interior that was dimly lit with candles on the tables and some blue neon lighting that emanated from the bar. I didn’t spot any cask ale, but there is a large range of standard draught and a cocktail list. The menus on each table consisted mainly of tapas which were quite pricey in my opinion; maybe they are large portions. A couple of plasma screens behind the bar were showing muted rolling news and there was some instrumental music playing in the background. I didn’t venture out of the main ground floor bar during my recent Monday evening visit, but I did note the advertised Affinity Bar where access is gained somewhere at the rear. I found the service to be very friendly and this was the busiest pub along the High Street that I found during my crawl of the area. To be honest I prefer a proper pub where I can see the pint I am drinking without straining my eyes so I don’t plan on a return visit anytime soon.
